Seward was our final stop on the trip (not including one final night in
Anchorage). Seward is pretty small (they boast of 3,000 year-round
residents), and the activities are pretty much all centered around the
sea. |
After spending nearly two weeks trying to find bald eagles, I was
finally rewarded with one very persistent bald eagle circling overhead
with a fish in his talons. Incredibly, the eagle was circling
because he was being dogged by some type of sea gull (or kittywake)
trying to take his fish! I just whipped off the main road, yanked
out my camera, crossed my fingers that the eagle would get close (he
didn't), and we watched for about 10 minutes. What a magnificent
creature! |
Eat at Ray's. They slice open the monster crab legs so you can
just lift the meat out with a fork! |
